Summary: Video game movies have not always had the best track record, but in recent memory, things have been looking up for them. Sure, they won't be winning any awards anytime soon, but they are at least enjoyable and respect the source material for the most part. This movie was among those refreshing changes of pace. It's by no means perfect, but anyone up for some nice monster action won't be disappointed.

History: The bio-science corporation Energyne has in secret conducted an experiment of unimaginable proportions. Originally, the special gene-altering gas they made was for curing diseases, but the corrupt leaders turned rebranded it into Project Rampage, a means of creating all new bio-weapons. Then a satellite full of the stuff exploded after the gas turned a rat into a ferocious giant. Three intact cannisters were sent all across America, one landing in the Everglades, another in the Grand Canyon, and another in a zoo. The first to be exposed to the gas within was George, a friendly albino gorilla that, as a result of the gas, grew to gigantic proportions in record time. It also increased his aggression, and he violently escaped. But he wasn't the only one who got mutated. He and two others are headed to Chicago. Him, a giant wolf named Ralph, and a massive alligator named Lizzie. The rampage has begun...

Notable Kills: See Final Fate.

Final Fate: After all three monsters succeed in toppling a skyscraper, George's human friend Davis Okoye had already managed to give him a serum that brings his mind back to normal. They both end up fighting against the other two feral mutants. Ralph ends up getting his head twisted off by Lizzie, who is in turn stabbed through the eye by George, who recovers from his near-fatal injuries rather quickly. For the moment, it seems that the fallout of Project Rampage is over.

Powers/Abilities: Ralph has grown membranes on him that enable him to glide. He can also fire large porcupine-like quills at targets with deadly accuracy. All three mutants, especially Lizzie, are impervious to most weaponry.

Weakness: Heavy artillery, though Lizzie's weak spots are her gills and eyes.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-Do the math here. Three deadly giant mutant animals destroying everything, with almost every weapon short of an atom bomb failing to stop them. George is definitely the least threatening out of them all, in fact he's a lovable big gorilla when he comes to his senses, but the other two are the worst of their species plus more. Ralph is practically a demonic wolf that can fly and stab, while Lizzie is a juggernaut with more teeth than she actually needs. It's a good thing there are no more mutants...right?

Trivia: -Original drafts for the ending would have alluded to more potential mutants. One of note is a giant octopus. Also, George would have died, but Dwayne Johnson REALLY didn't want that.

-This film was based off the famous arcade game of the same name. Over the years, there have been SEVERAL other monsters besides the big three in the franchise. They include giant rats, rhinos, lobsters, aliens, lions, crocodiles, demons, and many more! Though the biggest roster belongs to what was the last official game in the series before the movie, "Rampage: Total Destruction". In the original franchise, the three in this film are mutated humans, George looks more like King Kong, Ralph is just a huge werewolf, and Lizzie is a female copy of Godzilla.
